Pigments for Paints, Plasters & Glazes
5 bottles (each bottle contains 2oz / 60ml)
Basic kit of five transparent primary universal tint colorants:
These transparent, organic pigments were chosen to represent the best primary system for coloring paints and synthetic (not lime-based) plasters. You only need a small amount of pigment to “fix” a color based on the lessons learned in “The Keys To Color”. Download the free Color Circle mixing guide pdf for a great reference.
Fixing color the easy way.
If you don’t want to read the book, each kit comes with a free guide for fixing particular colors with just drops of pigment. For example:
To Fix a quart of Off-White paint if it is;
Too lemon yellow – add 1 drop (or more) of magenta
Too golden yellow – add 2 drops of magenta and a drop of blue. Do it again if still too golden.
Too pinkish or warm– add 1 drop green, 6 drops yellow. Do it again if still too pink
Too orange (peach) or warm – add 1 drop (or more) of blue.
Too gray or cool – add 2 drops yellow, 1 drop of red. Do it again if it is still too cool.
This gives the added benefit of making a color more complex and interesting. Try it and you will be amazed at how much the color is improved. There is enough pigment is this kit to fix 20 gallons of paint.
An equivalent set of pigments can be purchased from the Golden Artist Company;
 Golden Fluid Acrylics – Hansa Yellow Medium, Phthalo Blue (RS), Phthalo Green (YS), Napthol Red Light, Quinacridone Magenta.
